Darwin, Hitler and Science

Ben Stein’s new movie Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed takes the position that Darwin’s theory enabled Hitler.   That’s probably true.  But how’s it relevant for today in a world where scientists almost universally reject Hitler but accept Darwin?  Clearly, Darwin does not entail Hitler.  So what’s the point?  It doesn’t have any relevance to addressing the truth of Darwin’s theory?  I think it’s an attempt to muddy up the conceptual issues and create a negative association with the science of Darwin.   This is a common tactic of advertisers and marketers:  manipulate the viewer by creating unnatural associations.
