Just saw Stomp! tonight, after missing shows for about 20 years. It’s a show where a troupe of 8 experimental dancers use brooms, sticks, pipes, garbage cans, lids, tubs, buckets, oil cans, hub caps, wheels (the metal part that holds a tire), bags, and so on. They put on an incredible choreographed show that’s a visual and aural treat – guaranteed to chase away the February blues.
I got to see it in the Centre in the Square – considered one of the best concert halls in the world. I bought a seat in the balconies, and while I couldn’t always make out what a dancer was holding, I could hear everything. (This theatre is in the town that’s twin to the city where the Blackberry phone is made.)
