So I was not surprised that LeAnn Rimes is cheating with a co-star (Eddie Cibrian)who she’s come to know intimately through her work. Especially now that she’s been married 7 or 8 years. To me it’s no more surprising then the fact that people die, or the fact that leaves change color in the fall.
What’s humorous to me is the lame response that Rimes has given to the accusation that she cheated:
1) not everything in our lives is always black and white
2) things pass, life happens
Ok. Yeah, it’s true, people who are intimately involved in each other’s lives have affairs all the time. But what’s not black and white about that? It reminds me of Bill Clinton’s whole definition of sex thing. For God’s sake, let’s own up to what we’ve done and not fart all over the semantics of words.
And then the whole “things pass, life happens” nonsense. What’s that supposed to mean? You could use that line to explain away anything.
“Oops, I beat the shit out of my son. Things pass, life happens. ”
“Oops, I screamed at my boss. Things pass, life happens.”
“Oops, I killed the guy with a baseball bat because he was annoying the hell out of me. Things pass, life happens.”
