I can’t stand it when I want to read something online in another language.
Update: Ashley Todd admits to fake story
Michelle Malkin does a nice job of detailing the smelliness of the Ashley Todd mugging. There are 5 lines of evidence: 1. The backwards B just doesn’t seem right, but because it’s backwards and because it’s too dainty 2. Ashley Todd has taken actions of retreat by making her MySpace and Twitter pages private and [...]
I remember how my boss at my first job as a software engineer had a Honda Civic and how he would travel something like 120 miles, in both directions, each day for a commute. He selected the Civic specifically because of this requirement. Ever since then, the Civic has been etched in my mind as [...]
Here’s a really cool project where some motorheads modded a Porsche 997 into an electric car.
I wonder if there is any research into whether more or less learning happens near beaches. Despite the obvious distractions, I think there is something to be said for the positive attitude and mood that a nice environment induces. I bet it’s ultimately a better learning environment for those who can moderate themselves. [5 Reasons [...]
This is one of those nostalgic moments. I had no freakin’ clue that Ford still produced the Ford Taurus. But back in the day, that was the first family car I could remember as a child. I thought they had gone out of existence. Apparently not. Check it: 2010 Ford Taurus Spy Shots

The question had to be asked: who’s hotter? Tina Fey or Sarah Palin? Let me know your thoughts on who’s hotter in the comments. (FWIW, Tina Fey thinks Sarah Palin is hotter).
One of my good friends put up a really cool article on how to make your own energy drinks. As the American economy comes back down to earth, we’re going to have to move away from corporate and governmental dependence towards self-reliance. Simple things like this, added up, go a long way.
Maybe I’m just old school or something, but I’ve had this feeling deep in my gut for a long time that online college educations are watered down and don’t prepare the student in the same way that a traditional college education prepares them. I can’t shake the feeling and I’m genuinely curious how companies perceive [...]
Another thought on the economy: will poorly diversified car companies like Land Rover be able to succeed with minor adjustments like the 2010 Land Rover LRX crossover vehicle? Personally, I don’t think so. I think that this sort of compromise achieves very little. Gas mileage improvements are negligible. And the benefits of the SUV storage [...]
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how the downturn in the economy will affect us in tangible ways and my mind keeps coming back to one point: we will have to get used to living with our means. What does this mean? It means we’ll have to habituate ourselves to paying as we go. [...]
I saw Andrew Sullivan on the Sunday morning show with Chris Matthews (not Hardball… The Chris Matthews Show) and he made a brilliant point. The whole voter fraud fiasco is not only being way overblown (as Charlie Crist, Republican Governor of Florida has said) but it is a strategy that the Republicans have developed to [...]
Apparently Radiohead’s experiment with letting fans choose how much they pay to download an album worked. ‘In Rainbows’ generated more money before it was even physically released than Radiohead’s previous album, Hail to the Thief, generated all together. That’s impressive. [Link: NME]
This is one of those great stories that warms the heart. A high school in Chicago voted a student with down syndrome as the homecoming queen. [Link: Chicago Tribune]
I want this car sooooo badly. And to think that this was built by a high school student for $10k is unbelievable. (Link: gas2 )
John McCain, John McCain. Associations can come back to haunt you -> Photo of McCain at Acorn Event.
In the biggest news event of the week that the media has failed to report: Obama Rally Draws 100,000 in Missouri. That’s just amazing. Think about it. Missouri is a red state. Obama drew his biggest crowd in the US to date in a red state. McCain is in big trouble.
I’m not political expert but I do think the Colin Powell endorsement of Obama basically puts the final nail in the McCain coffin. Not only is Powell an extremely popular figure among independents (the people that both parties need to attract) but his announcement was perfectly timed to sap the energy out of the Joe [...]
