It’s cool to see that we are learning how to harness common things for energy and not just relying on uncommon things.  Up until now, we’ve had to rely on fast moving water to harness energy from water.  But it looks like slow moving water (1 mph) can now be tapped too.

Ontario Goes Full Bore For Solar Energy

Ontario decided to subsidise solar energy in that energy produced from solar could be sold for 42 cents per kilowatt. They thought that contractors would  build 88 kilowatts worth of solar-generated energy but now have 400 megawatts under contract. Build it and they will come, sort of.
