When I take a break I like to spend time relaxing, probably on the beach and just taking time to do very little. But some people don’t see travel like that, some people go on the most insane journeys! One guy has been walking the world since 1983, and he’s 82 years old. Another guy thought it would be fun to kayak for 4,500 miles around the British Isles.

As an avid surfer I’ve always had a fascination with waves, but not necessarily rogue waves. For years sailors have talked about the mysterious rogue wave, a wave so big that it can easily sink a ship. The worrying thing about these massive waves is that they can’t be predicted and therefore data on them is lacking. Until now.

Kudos to this guy who has just finished walking around the world! I’ve been walking about 4 miles every night for the last week because we have been experiencing rather mild weather for the time of the year. How lame does that sound compared to completing a round-the-world trip on foot after 18 years? Very.

I must confess to being a closet Lego fan. I mean, who isn’t? Besides The Goonies and contraband fireworks, the humble Lego brick remains one of my most indelible memories of childhood. My finest achievement was a small village (complete with airport) constructed after hours of painstaking work, which when compared to some of these Lego creations makes even my Lego property empire feel rather inadequate.
