I actually don’t use a cell phone more than twice a month. Cell phones limit my sense of freedom and so I only take calls when I am seated in my office, and in that case I don’t need a cell phone… Skype is sufficient.

Part of me feels a little self-righteous because I hear all these theories that cell phones might cause cancer and all. So I feel pretty safe. But it sure would be a shame if the 80% of the population (or so) that uses cell phones ended up with negative health effects. Hopefully it will turn out that cell phones are innocuous pieces of technology. But, if you are looking for some tips on how to protect yourself, check out this article called: 10 Ways to Limit Health Risk from Cell Phones

In this economic downturn, people are looking for ways to save money on just about everything. We don’t spend as much in the shops, we save more
money than before to make up for rampant spending, we travel less and when people do travel they spend less on flights and accommodation. Even our phone calls are feeling the crunch: we call less often, use Skype-to-Skype more and when overseas email will do. Well, that’s what I thought until I spotted this list of reasons to rent a BlackBerry Storm. Email, built-in mapping, GPS, 3G and GSM all come in very handy when you’re in a foreign country.

You know the Internet has become something awesome. When we were all using dial-up modems, there were quite a few limitations. We tried to squeeze everything we could out of the 56kbps or whatever it was, but really it was tedious. But with the advent of high speed internet and broadband the Internet has literally become an enabler of all our information, communication and entertainment needs. We now watch HD quality movies, research cars, read jokes, order gifts, talk, chat, and spend the majority of our lives on the Internet.

Think about it: the Internet is literally removing the need for physical objects (physical stores, DVDs, video game discs, CDs, etc.). It is so powerful it is changing the shape of our world. You can shop online instead of going to Walmart. In some places you can order groceries and have them delivered to you.
